Common questions
The most common specification is 140 x 60 pixels at 10 KB to 20 KB, used across SSC, IBPS and several banking portals. GATE has used 280 x 80 px, and SSC OTR registration has asked for 6 x 2 cm. Published tables disagree, so check your own notification.
Sign in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper and photograph or scan it. Most portals also prohibit signing in capital letters or block letters, and some reject a signature that differs noticeably from the one on your identity document.
It thresholds every pixel to either pure black or pure white, removing scanner shadow and the grey cast a phone photo adds. It also auto-crops to the ink, so the signature fills the frame instead of floating in a corner.
The ink threshold is too low for your scan. Raise it so more of the lighter stroke pixels count as ink. If the signature was written with a fine ballpoint, photographing it under brighter, even light gives the tool more to work with.
