Common questions
The Indian passport standard is 35 x 45 mm, which is approximately 413 x 531 pixels at 300 DPI. Online passport applications have also accepted a 4.5 x 3.5 cm colour photograph against a plain white background with the face centred.
For Indian passport applications, yes — a plain white or very light background with no pattern, shadow or furniture behind the head. A pale blue background is accepted by some examination portals but not by passport authorities.
